Day 1.
Morning
• Essential elements of a motor speech evaluation for a child with suspected CAS
• Considerations when evaluating a child who is nonverbal or minimally verbal
• Making a differential diagnosis between CAS, Phonological Disorder, and Dysarthria including case studies

Afternoon
• Principles of motor learning and how they guide treatment decisions when working with individuals with CAS
• Using the PRISM Model as a framework for treatment of CAS for children of all ages and stages
O Phoneme sequencing – things to consider when addressing phoneme sequencing
O Repetitive practice – the importance of repetitive practice and ways to make repetitive practice enjoyable and motivating for children
O Intensity of services – things to consider when making decisions about the intensity of service delivery for children with CAS
O Selecting target utterances – beyond just phonemes; multiple considerations in determine which target utterances to focus on in treatment
O Multisensory cueing – the four basic categories and multiple forms of multisensory cues used in CAS treatment and how and when to implement and fade various cues
• Case studies to practice selecting target utterances and developing intervention plans (lesson plans) for children with a variety of communication profiles
• Wrap up Day 1 – questions and answers

Day 2.
Morning
• Evaluating and addressing prosody in children with CAS
• Facilitating expressive language development in children with CAS
• Considerations in treatment of young and minimally verbal children with suspected CAS
• Supporting the needs of older children and adolescents with ongoing communication challenges, including use of visual biofeedback to address residual articulation challenges

Afternoon
• Four essential ways clinicians can refine and improve their clinical skills in treating individuals with CAS
• Developing meaningful goals and objectives for children with a variety of communication profiles, including case studies and practice in goal development
• Using a variety of data keeping strategies for tracking progress in treatment
• Partnering with parents to support children with CAS and to increase practice opportunities at home.
• Wrap up Day 2 – questions and answers
